Try Thai At The Bear opened in Tattenhall High Street in November 2005 on the site of what was the Bear & Rugged Staff pub. It’s been very tastefully decked out, marrying a modern comfortable interior with Thai artefacts, artwork and gentle Thai background music. The restaurant can seat up to 70 people but management generally limits numbers to 59 in order to maintain client comfort. Just 10 minutes from Chester, Try Thai At The Bear is the only Thai restaurant in the surrounding area. Expect an authentic Thai menu with a wide choice of dishes – popular choices include Por Pia Ped (duck spring rolls), Si Krong Moo Ob Num Peung (honey spare ribs), Tom Yam Goong (spicy king prawn soup), Ped Tad Krab Sam Rot (duck with sweet and sour chilli) and Gaeng Phed Ped Yang (roasted duck red curry). Plenty of wines to choose from and some good-value lunchtime and early evening deals (see below).
